Scott, Lloyd E. Jr. SCHODACK Lloyd E. Scott Jr., "Scotty," 88, passed away peacefully at his home with loving family around him on Friday, December 17, 2021. Lloyd was born in Hudson, and was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd E. (Clara Mae Hannett) Scott Sr.; his brother Roger Samuel Scott; and his beloved wife of 67 years, Margot Kube Scott. Survivors include his two sons, Kenneth R. Scott of Stephentown, and Michael L. (Janice) Scott of Naugatuck, Conn.; and his grandson, Jason K. Scott of Milton, Vt. Scotty attended Hudson High School where he played saxophone in the band and ran the 440-yard dash on the track team. He later attended Clarkson College taking engineering classes eventually becoming a draftsman and design engineer, working at ALCo Products in Schenectady. One of the projects he was most proud of was getting chosen to oversee the operation of the company Dynamometer Test Car accompanying the shipment and delivery of three new locomotives to the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway. When ALCo's main locomotive production operations ended in 1968, he worked as a consultant for various municipal public works departments while pursuing courses for a change in careers to teaching and was able to earn a position in the BOCES / Schenectady Public School System teaching drafting classes at Mont Pleasant High School until his retirement. His life was filled with adventures including many enjoyable camping trips starting out with a tent and outdoor cooking with family up to traveling to almost of the states in a large modern motor home with Margot, his wife of 67 years and meeting many fellow campers along the way who became life-long friends. He was a member of the Nassau Sportsman's Club, winning many top awards in local pistol tournaments and serving as safety instructor for the club. Other hobbies included working on restoring an old MGA automobile, dabbling in CB radio, photography, and constructing a model railroad empire in the basement of the same house he built in 1955. Relatives and friends may call from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with a gravesite and interment service behind the Greenbush Reformed Church in East Greenbush. Donations may be sent to St. Francis Mission, 498 Clinton Ave., Albany, NY, 12202 where Lloyd served as their organist during the last of his almost 70 years of "making joyful noise unto the Lord."
