Loretta Flanders Obituary
COHOES - Loretta J. Flanders passed away on August 27, 2023, with her daughter and family by her side.
Loretta was born in Persia, Iowa on November 4, 1927. She was the daughter of John H. and Ellen E. Felgentreff. Loretta was an extremely hard worker, and more than that she was a loving mom, sister, daughter, aunt, and grandmother. Those who knew her will remember her smile, and her love for birds, chipmunks, flowers, family and crafting. She worked for the federal government as a contract negotiator for 33 years and retired in 1983.
Loretta was predeceased by her parents; her husbands, Edward J. Hack and Robert J. Flanders; her brothers, Raymond L. Felgentreff (Jane), and John L. Felgentreff; her sister, Phyllis E. Mattice; and her granddaughter, Kristie Cleaver. Loretta is survived by her daughters, Bertie Nash and Linda Hack; her grandchildren, John W. Nash (Stephanie and daughters), Amanda J. Nash-Jimenez (and daughters), Steven Craig Hufford, Heather Mires, and Holly Huff; two sisters, Jennylee Carmen (Robert), and Marilyn Cannon; plus several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved beyond words.
While Loretta's family grieves this great loss, they are choosing to remember Loretta in a way that honors her spirit.
Please join them at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie for the viewing at 8:30 a.m. with services following at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 2.
