Louis DelSignore Obituary

DelSignore, Louis J. "Lou" Sr. CLIFTON PARK Louis J. "Lou" DelSignore Sr. passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 while surrounded by loving family and friends. True to his spirit and humble nature, he kept his family and friends at ease while he peacefully passed due to complications from cancer. He was born November 2, 1937 and just celebrated his 76th birthday. Lou grew up in Watervliet, attended primary and secondary school, and in 1959 graduated from the University at Albany with a bachelor's of science. Lou had many talents and enjoyed soccer, diving, tennis, skiing and recently golf. He was an avid Yankees, Knicks and Giants fan and defended them vigorously. He loved spending time at his homes in Clifton Park and Lake George, and with his friends in Aruba. Lou had many strengths and was a talented entrepreneur. He created a successful music business, Northeast One Stop, Inc., among other companies. He was admired and adored by those with whom he worked with and he mentored. He valued the relationships he made with so many throughout his life as evidenced by the overwhelming support received from those he has touched. He was a leader who was balanced with character, humility and a sense of humor. He deeply believed in giving back and providing for those less fortunate and those gifts still live on with his passing. He was philanthropic locally, nationally and internationally. He was passionate about sponsoring sick children and their "wishes" at Make-A-Wish. He taught his children, grandchildren and others the importance of giving back and volunteering for charities such as Toys for Tots and Meals on Wheels. Until his sickness recently prevented him from attending, he volunteered for CareLinks in Clifton Park. He was a man who put others first and was a role model to all. He inspired many and his family mourns the loss of their "rock." His parents, Louis and Rose, and his sister, Loraine, preceded Lou in death. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; children, Michael (Andrea), Gwen, Beth and Louis Jr.; grandchildren, Nicole, Taylor and Zachary; sisters, Linda Hewett (Charles and family) and Marie McGinniss (Chuck and family); cousin, Mary Zavis (Edward); along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 12 at 11 a.m., at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park. Burial will be in Jonesville Cemetery, Jonesville. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast New York, 1 Mustang Drive, Cohoes, NY 12047.

Hi Pat. We still speak of Lou when in Aruba and my husband Al loves to use a quote from Lou reguarly when in Aruba and during the year when we are home and that is "remember what Lou would say we are Marriott trained."

Pat and family,
I am saddened to hear of Lou's passing. I always look back fondly of my time at Northeast One Stop. I learned so much from Lou, not just about work and business, but about life. He was a great leader who inspired others to be their best. I will never forget the smell of burnt popcorn that would fill the office around 2:00 every day.
May he rest in peace.

Lou was such a nice person. From when he first came to Care Links to ask about volunteering for us, it was easy to know him and obvious that he was special. It is not surprising to read such wonderful things about him in the obituary because even knowing him for a brief time one could tell that he had a kind heart and giving spirit.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in your loss. If we at the program realize a loss, it has to be many times greater for all of his family and friends.

Very sincerely,
Carole Beauregard, Program Director

Mr. Delsignore was an amazing man who helped me become the person I am today. I am so thankful that I have been a part of the Delsignore family and treasure the memories and lessons your dad taught me! I am so sad that he is gone, but know his memory will stay alive with all of us. He touched so many people and we are all lucky to have known him. Pat and family,
I am so saddened to hear about Lou. Although it's been many years since Northeast One Stop, I will always remember the opportunities, structure and encouragement that Lou gave to the people that worked for him. He was always wanting you to do "better" and "work harder" if you want to "succeed"... But as much as pushed you to do better, Lou always helped you along the way. He was a kind, generous man and I will always remember the opportunity that he gave me and the words of wisdom that he shared...that still help me today.
