Marcy Swartz Obituary

Swartz, Marcy L.
LATHAM - Marcy L. Swartz, age 46, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Laconia, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of Thomas MacKissock and Patricia Sutton.
Marcy is survived by her husband of nine years, Kyle Swartz; and their two sons, Joshua and Austin. She is also survived by her stepparents, John Sutton and Kathy MacKissock, along with Blake and Melissa Tuttle. She is survived by one brother, Marc MacKissock and stepsister, Bridget MacKissock. She is survived by her stepsiblings, Susan Clark, Jennifer Sutton Hancock, Christy Perkins, Jeff Hannah, Garrett Jewell and Alexandria Rose. She is survived by a brother-in-law Andrew Swartz and sister-in-law Stephanie Miller, niece and nephew Makenna and Mitchell MacKissock and countless aunts, uncles and cousins.
Marcy's favorite things in life included spending time with, and going on adventures, with her husband and two boys. Marcy was the driving force to making her family grow stronger. She encouraged Kyle as he explored a new career opportunity, that several years later provided the time and resources he needed to help the family during her year-long battle with Brain Cancer. They bought their first home together in Clifton Park in 2014 and moved to Latham in 2021. Marcy loved her boys tremendously and wanted nothing more than to see them become outstanding young men. She also loved taking the family dog, Jack, for long walks.
Marcy was an avid runner, including completing a marathon and several half marathons. She enjoyed hiking and long walks with her running club. Marcy looked forward every year to visit the family camp on Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough, N.H. She spent hours sitting on the dock, kayaking, swimming and relaxing with family and friends. She also had a special fondness for the ocean where she always felt free, renewed and ready to take on the world. Marcy was always reading and learning to further her career as a nurse so she could be a positive influence and teacher for her patients. Her family enjoyed attending Life Church and meeting the amazing people that shared similar interests. She truly believed in surrounding herself with good people. Marcy cherished all of her friendships, from her childhood and current besties, college buddies, fellow students, coworkers and running enthusiasts. She had a special place in her heart for each of them and never forgot the memories they had together.
Marcy graduated Laconia High School in 1996. After graduating with a degree from Keene State College, she moved to Seattle, Wash., to pursue her career in business and sales.
Marcy moved back to Guilderland, N.Y., in 2009, to pursue her career in Nursing. During this time, she met her Husband Kyle and started a family together. They bought their first home in Clifton Park in 2014 and moved to Latham in 2021. She attended BOCES of Albany (LPN), Hudson Valley Community College – (Registered Nurse), and Capella University (BSN-RN).
Marcy worked in several Hospitals and private medical practices, including The Retina Center, Landmark Health, The Bone and Joint Center, St. Peters Hospital during the peak of Covid, and most recently Honest Medical Group as Clinical Operations Supervisor. While at Honest, Marcy excelled at helping patients and their families get through the most difficult times, providing the support they needed to get the exceptional care they deserved. During her time in school and as a nurse, she surrounded herself with an amazing network of friends, who to this day have been an unwavering support to Marcy during her battle and continue to accept her family as their own. Marcy will be greatly missed by all, and be rest assured, that her family and friends will continue living life to the fullest.
