Koch, Marian E. SOUTH BETHLEHEM Marian E. Koch, 86, a lifelong South Bethlehem resident, died on Monday, August 23, 2021. Marian was born in South Bethlehem on September 16, 1934, the daughter of the late Conrad and Anna (Laidig) Koch. She was a graduate of the N.Y.S. Teachers College and The College of Saint Rose in Albany and taught at the Albertus W. Becker Elementary School in Selkirk for 31 years. Marian dedicated her life to her students and to being the caretaker of the family farm, a duty that she cherished through her retirement and until her final days. Survivors include her sister, Evelyn Lasher of Catskill; nieces, Marian (Kenneth) Schmitt of Shoreham, N.Y. and Christine (Keith) Jones of Cooperstown; as well as great-nieces, Adrianna and Alison Jones.
