Marie Margosian Obituary
TROY - Marie E. (Guilana) Margosian, 94, died Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Peter Guilana and Maria Pujolar Guilana and wife of the late Edward Margosian. She was a lifelong resident of Troy.
Marie taught at Troy Public School 18 for 32 years, retiring in 1984. Prior to that, from 1956-57 she taught at the US Air Force Dependent School in Bordeaux, France.
She was a member of New York State Retired Teachers' Association and New York State United Teachers. She was also a Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary volunteer and a communicant of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Troy and Trinity Church of Watervliet.
Survivors include her sister, Kathaleen A. Guyette; her nephews, Timothy P. Guyette and David P. Guyette.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.

I worked with Marie as I am in activities at Eddy memorial. Marie's spirit and smile was contagious to me. She was so selfless and caring of everyone around her. I feel joy remembering our time together and I keep her in my heart always.

Many years ago, while attending the Church of the Holy Cross, I had the opportunity to meet Marie and Ed Margosian. She was an incredible lady, a capable teacher, and a faithful Episcopalian. I was just thinking about Marie a few days ago and of a lovely afternoon, when she visited me in my home, in Clifton Park.
May the family of Marie be comforted in the knowledge that Marie rests peacefully in God.

Marie was such a sweet lady. She was my teacher at School #18 and one of my mother's best friends. She always contacted me on how my Mom was doing during her last year. I will remember her fondly.

I worked with Marie for 12 yrs at Scool 18. In 1964 I was a green ,wet behind the ears,new teacher. She was so supportive and encouraging to me. I learned a lot from her,just watching her professionalism.Marie was a wonderful person and friend. In retirement our paths would often cross at Duncan's!!
