Marie Murphy

Murphy, Marie ALBANY Marie (McCormick) Murphy, 81, a lifelong resident of Albany, died peacefully Saturday, February 3, 2007 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Robert McCor-mick and Catherine McDade. Mrs. Murphy was a graduate of Albany High Class of 1944. After high school, she went to work for the NYS Comptroller's Office, where she worked for 15 years, resigning to raise her family. After 16 years at home, she returned to the work force in 1976 with the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles for 12 years until her retirement in 1988. Mrs. Murphy was a communicant of St. Margaret Mary's Church. She was devoted wife and mother and her happiest times were spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of 58 years of Thomas Murphy of Albany; loving mother of Kathleen (Christopher) Neumann, Brian Murphy, Linda Murphy, Patrice (Thomas) McCarthy, all of Albany, and Alicia (Jeff) Talley of Las Vegas, Nev. Also survived by her eight cherished grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Margaret Mary's Church, Western Ave. at Homestead Street. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. on Tuesday 4-7 p.m. Interment, Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
