I thought the written obit for Mario described him perfectly. As Mario's "Uber driver",his name for me once he gave up driving 2 months ago, I can attest to his endless wit and good humor. We would all like to have had his faculties, wit and charm at 92.
Every Monday I would drive him to bingo at the Elks where he proceeded to flirt with the ladies and share witticism all night. Mario also worked every Elk dinner and was a regular with his friend Charlie at the elk Friday night events.
I would also take Mario to the "office", his name for the casino for 2 hours every week. He had a system for roulette but never risked more than $10-20 on it.
Mario was so proud of family. He was happy he was able to see them as often as he did. Mario loved telling stories of his life in Long Island and his many happy years with his wife to whom he was devoted.. He felt fortunate that he was able to settle with his wife in Saratoga Springs for their final years. He appreciated the Wesley community supports for he and his wife.
Mario you will be missed by your many friends who deemed it a special gift to know you.
My wife Barbara and I offer our deepest condolences to Mario's family on a loss we all share.
