Mary Gipp Obituary

COHOES Mary Peggy Gipp, 58, of Columbia St., died Monday, December 1, 2003 at Samaritan Hospital unexpectedly after a short illness. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Margaret Burgess Cosgrove. She was a 1965 graduate of Waterford-Halfmoon High School. Peggy was employed for 25 years at the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance in Albany and Latham and retired in 1995. She was a member of the Civil Service Employees Association. She is survived by her husband, William G. Gipp III; her children, William E. Grey III and his wife Jennifer of So. Glens Falls and Brian S. Grey and his wife Kathleen of Gansevoort. She is stepmother of William E. Gipp IV of Bradenton, Fla., Sherry Gruss of Westerlo and Emily Nemith of Sarasota, Fla.; sister of William B. Cosgrove of Allentown Pa., Terrance L. Cosgrove of Albany and Cathleen A. Suspanic of Waterford; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rt. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.
