Mary Shattell Obituary

CORNWALLVILLE Mrs. Mary E. Shattell, age 59, of Hervey Street, Cornwallville, died suddenly Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. She was born May 20, 1945 in Syracuse, N.Y., the daughter of Ethel (Farnworth) Gerace-Nolan of Syracuse and the late Gerald Gerace. Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of the Goldwing Roadriders Association and enjoyed bingo and traveling. Mrs. Shattell is survived by her husband of 41 years, John M. Shattell of Cornwallville; two sons, Dennis Shattell of Syracuse and John Shattell (Lisa) of Coxsackie; a daughter, Mary L. Shattell-Hester and husband Cary of Gainesville, Fla.; two brothers, James Gerace and wife Rosemary of Manlius and Gerald Gerace and wife Nancy of East Syracuse; a sister, Barbara Gaffney and husband James of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, Laura Lee Shattell, Ashley Lostritto, Nicole Bell, Stephen Shattell, Brian Hester, Christopher Hester, Andrea Hester; an aunt, Greta Shattell of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; a cousin, Doug Shattell of Baldwinsville; many cousins; nieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 10 at Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, 234 Jefferson Heights, Catskill. The Rev. John J. Murphy, pastor of St. Patrick's R.C. Church will be officiating. Private cremation will be performed in Park View Cemetery in Schenectady.
