Hanehan, Michael J. Sr. STILLWATER Michael J. Hanehan, Sr., 84, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, April 29, 2016, in the comfort of his home. Born May 30, 1931, son of Walter and Elizabeth Hanehan, Michael grew up in Stillwater and was a proud Stillwater Warrior basketball player. His class of 1949 named the team the Warriors and chose the team colors that live on today. After High School he entered the U.S. Air Force and proudly served during the Korean War. Mike was an honorable man and the best Father any child could wish for. He enjoyed camping, fishing and was an avid New York Giants fan, and a member of St. Peter's Church of Stillwater. Survivors include his best friend and wife of 54 years, Betty Brown Hanehan. Also his children, William (Stephanie) Phillips of San Diego, Thomas (Lisa) Phillips, Colleen (Frank) Maheux and Michael (Michelle Dodge) Hanehan, Jr. all of Stillwater and Karrin (William) Campbell of Malta; along with 10 grand and two great-grandchildren, and his sister Marie Lewis of Stillwater, nieces and nephews and families. Mike was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, William and Joseph Hanehan. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 2, at 12 p.m. at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 895 Hudson Ave., Stillwater. Burial with military honors in Stillwater Union Cemetery.
