Michael Levsha Obituary

Levsha, Michael P. EAST GREENBUSH Michael P. Levsha, 93, of East Greenbush, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center. Michael was born in New York City to the late Peter and Helen Levsha. Throughout Michael's life, he owned various businesses and taverns in the Albany area. He was very proud to have served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in the Pacific. He served as a medical technician aboard PBY rescue planes. Michael will be greatly missed for his sense of humor, generosity and helping others in need through out his life. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, golf, and snowmobiling. He was predeceased by his wife, Valentina Federov and brother, John Levsha. Michael is survived by his two daughters, Linda (Patrick) Levsha- O'Keeffe and Mary D. Levsha; one son, Peter (Michele) Levsha; and four grandchildren, Michael, Marissa, Justin and Christopher; sister, Ann (Charles) Rappazzo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Many others called him Uncle Mike as well. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Vigil service Friday, February 13, 2015, from 5-7 p.m., at the Holy Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, 617 Sand Creek Road, Colonie, NY 12205, with the funeral service Saturday, at 9 a.m., at the Holy Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, with interment following in Holy Trinity Monastery, Jordanville. Those who wish may make contributions to The Holy Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, 617 Sand Creek Road, Colonie, NY 12205 in Michael's memory.
