Michael Miller Obituary
LIVINGSTON, N.J. Michael David Miller, 52, of Livingston, N.J. died Thursday, March 17, 2005 in the Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Born in Albany, N.Y., Dr. Miller lived in West Orange before moving to Livingston in 1981. He received his undergraduate degree from SUNY and his graduate degree from the University of Zaragoza, Spain. Dr. Miller served his internship and residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. He was on the staff at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, St. Mary's Hospital and the Orange Memorial Hospital, both in Orange and Elizabeth General Medical Center in Elizabeth. Before its closing in 1992, Dr. Miller had served as head of the Emergency Room at St. Mary's Hospital for nine years. He also later volunteered with Doctors Without Borders, a world-wide organization. He was a member of the American Medical Association. M. David Miller was a loving father, brother and physician. He was a man respected and revered by friends and colleagues alike. Those who knew Michael David Miller, M.D. would agree that words and a simple description and summary of his accomplishments and world view would not do justice to a man so complex and idiosyncratic. He touched those around him in a myriad of ways. It would be quite difficult to put into words the kind of man Dr. Miller was. He was a man that one could always turn to for personal, independently-minded advice in all situations. It is not very often that one comes across such a brilliant source of energy like that of David Miller. A renegade who challenged medical orthodoxy throughout his career, Miller practiced internal and emergency medicine at many area hospitals and ran full-time private practice for over a decade. From his humble beginnings in Albany, N.Y. to his adventures in Bolivia to spending most of the past few years living in Spain, Miller had Seen It All. He will be missed and the world has lost one of its most creative and sublimely gifted individuals. Miller is survived by his two children, Jason, 24, CEO of CFE, Inc. and Kimberly, 22, graduate student at FDU, as well as his sisters, Robyn Padolsky and Kristine Euliano. Funeral service Sunday, March 20 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, N.J. Interment, Beth El Cemetery.
