Michael Roe Obituary

Roe, Michael P.
ALBANY - Michael Patrick Roe, 37, beloved son of Kevin and Kathleen Roe, of Niskauyna, died on May 11, 2025, in Darby, Pa.
Michael was a 2006 graduate of Colonie Central High School, where he played varsity lacrosse. He attended Rochester Institute of Technology and The College of St. Rose. He worked for many years with his family at the Capital District Celtic Cultural Association, where he served in several capacities. He was a Jack-of-All-Trades, and master of most of them. More recently, he worked for Target Corp. in Philadelphia, while also serving as a substance abuse counselor in Media, Pa.
Michael enjoyed decades of vacations in Manasquan on the Jersey Shore with extended family and friends. They will remember him for his kind spirit, his wide smile, his piercing baby blues, and his love of books and music. As a young boy, he loved yard sales and could be seen on sunny Saturday mornings with his wagon going from sale to sale in the neighborhood. Oh, the treasures he brought home with glee and promise.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Soraka of Albany; and her mother, Bridget O'Connor; and sister, Allison Roe (Liz Thivierge) of Halfmoon. He is also survived by his cousins, Lisa Manchester and Anna Brown of Buffalo, Katie Tucker of Weston, Mass., Maura Tucker of Lancaster, Pa., Dylan Roe, Kaelin Roe, Joseph Angelotti, Shannon Roe of Albany and Jason and Cullen O'Keefe of Wis. He was predeceased by his aunts, Deanna Colfels and Marla O'Keefe; and is the nephew of Michael, Brian (Kellie) and John (Dolores) Roe, Maryann Tucker, all of Albany; and Patrick O'Keefe of Wis.
Services for Michael will be private. Friends that wish to call on the family may do so at the Celtic Hall, 430 New Karner Rd., Albany, on Saturday, May 24, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Donations in Michael's memory to the American Lung Association at action.lung.org would be appreciated.
