Muriel Johnson Obituary

Johnson, Muriel "Sally" SCHENECTADY Muriel "Sally" Johnson died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Kingsway Arms Nursing Centre. Born Muriel Sutton at Freehold, N.Y., she lived most of her life in Berne, N.Y., the wife of Donald Snyder, who died in 1988. In 1995, she became the wife of Lyle Johnson and they resided in Fla. until his death in 1999. She then became a resident of the Kingsway Community in Schenectady. Sally was a member of the 1st Reformed Church of Berne where she served over the years in many capacities. She was also a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and had the honor of serving as W. matron of both the Uhai Chapter in Berne and the Onesquethaw Chapter in Delmar and as district deputy grand matron of the 1st Albany, Rensselaer and Schenectady District in 1983. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia. Survivors include four grandchildren, Stephen Furman, Gordon and Robin Furman, Tammy and Greg Stempel and Shelly Young. She is also survived by numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont. Relatives and friends may call on Friday preceding the service from 5-7 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions in Sally's memory to the 1st Reformed Church of Berne, 1663 Helderberg Trail, Berne, NY 12023.

So sorry to hear fo Sally's passing. She was one of the finest , nicest most gracious people I have ever met. I am sure you will miss her terribly. She lived a noble life.
