Nathan Lefkowitz Obituary

Lefkowitz, Nathan ORLANDO, Fla. Nathan Lefkowitz, 81, of Orlando, passed away August 27, 2007. He was born February 10, 1926 in Brooklyn. He also served in the US Navy and worked for the State of New York as a identification analyst. He was a well known swimming instructor with the Jewish Community Center in Albany, N.Y., Camp Givah and was a Hebrew Instructor with Temple Beth Emeth. He retired and moved to Orlando, Fla. in 1991 and continued to teach Hebrew at Congregation Beth Emeth in Orlando. Mr. Lefkowitz is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mildred; his children, Rabbi Alan (Jody) Lefkowitz of Windsor, Conn., Rabbi Robert (Debbie) Lefkowitz of Orlando and Linda (Jeffrey) Dreiwitz of Waco, Texas; his son-in-law, Mendal Szlamowicz; his brother, Earl Lefkowitz; his grandchildren, David, Lisa and Sara Szlamowicz and Joseph and Laura Dreiwitz; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Szlamowicz and by his brothers, Harry and Herman Lefkowitz. Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Orlando, Fla. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Emeth, Orlando, Fla. or Congregation Beth Ahm in Windsor, Conn. Arrangements entrusted to Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 407-293-1361.
