Nicholas Vincent LaFleche

LaFleche, Nicholas Vincent CLIFTON PARK Nicholas Vincent LaFleche, 41, died unexpectedly on March 27, 2011 at his home. Born in Troy on June 30, 1969, Nicholas was the son of Barbara J. Quacken-bush LaFleche of Clifton Park and the late Vincent E. LaFleche. Raised and educated in Clifton Park, Nick grew up as a typical neighborhood kid, spending time with his friends, riding dirt bikes on the trails behind his house, sledding down hills in the winter months and playing sports. As a youth, he excelled at and enjoyed playing lacrosse, baseball and soccer. He was a member of the graduating Class of 1987 from Shenendehowa Senior High School. Nicholas was the owner and operator of Flawless Seamless Gutters of Clifton Park, a company he founded. He was a member of the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County. He loved sports and physical activity. Snowboarding, downhill skiing, sledding, waterskiing and all water sports brought him enjoyment. He also loved to play scrabble and poker and he was unbeatable. He was a concert-goer, traveler, especially to places like Mexico, Key West and anyplace with a beach and he especially enjoyed the times he spent at Saratoga Lake with his family. Nicholas will long be remembered by his family and friends as intelligent, kind and generous and for his soft hearted ways and for the special place he kept in his heart for children. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved brothers, Anthony Merritt LaFleche of Clifton Park and Marc Joseph (Melanie) LaFleche of Columbia, S.C.; his dear friend and companion, Freda Yorganson and her daughter Abby; his loving aunts and uncles, Carol A. McCarthy of Watervliet, Peter and Lana LaFleche of Clifton Park and Florida and David and Connie LaFleche of Clifton Park; his dear great-aunt, Dolores Riccitelli of Latham; his special friends, Larissa Godbolt and her son Gunnar as well as cousins, second cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Duane and Ethel Bruce LaFleche and Merritt and Mary Sanzo Quackenbush, all formerly of Watervliet. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, Clifton Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Patrick J. Butler, pastor. A private interment will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 3 until 7 p.m. in the Bowen & Parker Bros. Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
