Pamela L. Miranda

Miranda, Pamela L. BALLSTON SPA Pamela L. Miranda, 69, passed away suddenly at Albany Medical Center on October 1, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 14, 1952, in Glendale, Calif. She is predeceased by her parents, George and Ella Jane Noe and a brother George T. Noe. Pam is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph J. Miranda, Jr.; her sons, William Miranda (Denise) of Syracuse, Joseph Miranda, III of Ballston Spa; and her daughter Lisa Miranda Brassard of N.C. She was the adoring grandmother of Luke Miranda, Jace Miranda, and Samantha Brassard. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Janice Miranda Cutbush; and brother-in-law, Stephen Hutchins; several nieces, nephews, and cousins too numerous to name. Pam's career began humbly as a waitress at D'Andrea's in Saratoga, where she met Joe, the love of her life. After marrying, she worked at Saratoga Surrogate Court and then as a secretary at Ballston Spa High School. It was while working there that she was inspired to further her education and subsequently attended Schenectady Community College at night. She then went on to get her four year degree at SUNY Albany in Business Education. She then went on to get her four year degree at SUNY Albany in Business Education. She worked as a business teacher at both Shenendehowa and Ballston Spa High Schools. Additionally, while working full time, Pam completed two masters' degrees, including an M.Ed in Education Administration. She earned a Masters degree in Business Education and then in Education Administration, which allowed her to end her career as Assistant Principal at Ballston Spa High School. As a teacher she was beloved, as an administrator, feared, and above all else, she was deeply respected for her work ethic and dedication to her students. After retirement in 2008, Pam loved traveling to her beloved Ogunquit, Maine with Joe and whomever she could find to go with her. There she enjoyed walking The Marginal Way and ending the day at her favorite restaurant, Five-O. She also traveled frequently to their condo in Florida, where she enjoyed the good life with her many friends there. Pam became an avid reader, often devouring several books a week and joining a book club for retired teachers where she reveled in the camaraderie of old friends, and occasionally even discussed the books. She cherished the times she spent with her children and grandchildren and will be missed by her family and many friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Thursday, October 6, at St. Mary's Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa. There will be no calling hours.
