Coffey, Patrick John SCHOHARIE Patrick John Coffey, 74 of Rack Road in Schoharie, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 14, 2022, of natural causes after taking his last hike. Patrick was born on February 11, 1948, in Albany, a son of Joseph Coffey Jr. and Beatrice (Williams) Coffey-Crounse. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy and later, Sienna College where he received his bachelor's degree in accounting. Most recently, he worked at Catholic Charities in Cobleskill, The ARC Lexington - Schoharie and was the co-owner of Heldeberg Pet Center in Altamont. "Uncle Pat" has been an avid hiker all his life and loved the solitude of the outdoors, caring for the horses at Heldercrest Farm and his Labradors. He was a member of the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce. To his family, he will be remembered as a devoted son, a deeply loved brother and a father figure to each of his nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews. He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Coffey-Crounse of Mercy Life Center; his siblings, Joseph (Fran Hanks) Coffey of Temecula, Calif., and Kathleen (Ron) Stevens of Schoharie; along with his nieces and nephews, Daniel Stevens (Laura), Rebecca Corcoran (Ian), Tylor Stevens (Morgan Bell), Jennifer Pizzoferrato (Emilio), and Justin J. Coffey (Kayla); and his grandnieces and nephews, Julia Coffey, Ava Lily Coffey, Amilio Pizzoferrato, Scarlet Coffey, Sage Coffey, Evelyn Corcoran, Clarence Corcoran, Helen Corcoran, Laurel Corcoran, Luke Stevens, Jack Stevens, and Owen Stevens. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ The King Church, 20 Sumter Ave., Guilderland, on Thursday, June 2, at 12 p.m. with a period of visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the Mass. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Patrick to Catholic Charities, 489 W. Main St., Cobleskill, NY, 12043.
