Patrick Duff Obituary

Duff, Patrick Thomas NISKAYUNA Patrick Thomas Duff died on December 6, 2015, after squeezing every bit of joy and love into all the days of his 30 years. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Rosemary and Thomas Duff; his maternal grandparents, Joan and Thomas Kerrigan; and his dear Aunt Sharon Kerrigan. Patrick was born on July 6, 1985, to Dr. Thomas and Kathleen Kerrigan Duff. He treasured beyond measure his brother, Dr. Michael (Jennifer) Duff and his sister, Maura Duff. He was fun Uncle Patrick to Abigail, Kelsey, Carly and Brody Duff. His aunts and uncles, James (Carmen), Thomas, Mary, John (Missi), James (Ann Marie), Peter, Patty (Matt) and Mary (Tom), have been left to tell many stories. Patrick made a gazillion cherished memories with his cousins, T J, Jennifer and James Kevin. Meghan, Christopher, Matthew, Gregory, Sarah, Caitlyn, Victoria, Annie, Brigid, Molly, Katie and Joseph, made his circle of cousins complete. His countless friends (among them the Brickhouse team) blessed his life and helped to ignite Patrick's generous spirit through their loyalty and love. HIBU (formerly Yellowbook) has lost one of their top-performing sales employees. Patrick worked for HIBU as a digital sales executive since graduating from LeMoyne College. His career success can only begin to be measured by the many awards and accolades he received among them repeatedly reaching the goal of "President's Club" (top 5% nationally in sales). Patrick loved everything sports, especially his Boston teams. The Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics lost their biggest fan when he died. The wake will be at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church (formerly St. Helen's) on Union St. in Niskayuna on Friday, December 11, between 4 and 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church on Saturday, December 12, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Robert Longobucco will preside. Burial will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. All are welcome. If you wish, a donation in Patrick's memory can be made to Bethesda House in Schenectady or to a charity of your choice.

The Duff family and extended family,
I worked with Pat for a short time at Yellowbook. Helpful and kind to me as a new employee, he had a great work ethic and a deep care for the people he worked with. I saw Patrick for the last time this summer at a local church he was attending with a mutual friend. As I talked and smiled with him, we shared our mutual faith in Christ, and said we would definitely see each other again. I share that in re-assuring hope, and a burning desire to draw all of us closer to Jesus Christ. I, like you, look forward to seeing him again, upon our graduation.
Your family will continue to be in our families prayers. Together we celebrate Pat's life, and the time God gave us to enjoy his kind spirit.
God Bless all of you. David Usher

Dear Tom and Kathy, I only just became aware of the horrific tragedy that had occurred, with the death of Patrick. It is with profound sadness, that I write this. There are no words, that would be capable of penetrating your grief, but I Pray fervently, that the Lord will hold you in the palm of His hand, and bring you His consolation.

My deepest condolences to the Duff family and all of Pat's friends. Though I had only met Pat a few times over the course of his friendship with my brother, Greg, one thing was abundantly clear, he had a way of connecting with everyone who crossed his path. Pat was the first one to light up the room and put a smile on your face, he was a kind, fun-loving comedian. May all the lives that Pat touched in his short time on this earth help you find comfort during this difficult time.

Dr. Duff and family,
I know Patrick loved you all very much. He always spoke highly of his parents and family from the day he walked into the office. I worked w/ Patrick up until 3 1/2 years ago and recently I meet up with him and John Rowe for lunch and coffee. He will be so missed and I can't tell you he is one of the finest young gentlemen I ever worked with. Extremely respectful, happy etc. I am really at a loss for words but I have a cute little story to tell. When he came into the office he was assigned a cubicle in front of me. This young man leaned over introduced himself and said I know your a success, and may I ride with you. I said yes and we became work friends from that time on. God needed another angel and that is Patrick. He was one in a million. God Bless all of you and my heart aches and I wish you peace. Sincerely Victoria Russo
ps I will be attending tomorrow evening to pay my respects to a wonderful person.
