Paul DeVoe Obituary

DeVoe, Paul E.
MECHANICVILLE - Paul E. DeVoe, 77, of Hemstreet Park, died unexpectedly on June 21, 2025, while on vacation in Fla. Born in Troy on August 4, 1947, son of the late Elmer and Marion Straight DeVoe, he was a 1964 graduate of Mechanicville High School, HVCC in 1966, and received his bachelor's from SUNY Albany in 1968.
Paul worked for the New York State Department of Labor for 57 years, retiring this past January as a Senior Accountant. Paul enjoyed yearly trips to Fla., particularly the Orlando area and Disney Resorts.
He was a longtime member of the former Emmanuel Church in Mechanicville, and of the First Baptist Church of Saratoga Springs, singing in choir and serving as youth minister to both congregations, leading their respective youth groups for nearly two decades. Paul was a lifelong fan of Mechanicville sports and assisted the girls' basketball and soccer teams through the years as a scorekeeper and statistician. He also assisted the Voice of the Red Raiders, Louie Marcelle, as a spotter during many sporting events. Later in life, he cherished the chance to watch his grandson, Cole, participate in all of his academic, athletic, and chorus events.
Survivors include his children, Garrett E. DeVoe, and Joy, and her husband, Heath Mastropietro; and his grandson, Cole Mastropietro.

June 29, 2025

Paul was dedicated to the Mechanicville softball program for many years, he was part of the 10 sectional and 6 state championship run from 2000-2014. Paul was always the first one to practice and the last one to leave. He was the oldest person in the room but at times acted like the youngest.
Rest in peace.
