Paul Lyman Obituary

Lyman, Paul M. Sr.
RAVENA - Paul M. Lyman Sr., 87, of Ravena, entered into eternal rest with his loving family by his side, on October 9, 2025. Born in Albany, N.Y., on March 1, 1938, he was the son of the late Stephen R. and Catherine F. (Palmer) Lyman.
Survived by Paul M. (Jennifer) Lyman, Jr; Angela J. Dimura (Randy DeBacco); Sandra M. (David) Close; Diane C. (Sam) Purcell, Jaclyn N. (Brandon) Williams, Edward P. Lyman (Erin Lamoree); two stepsons, Bruce (Melissa) Myers and Michael (Jennifer) Myers; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Carras; and many beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends. Also survived by Barbara J. (Leroy) Langdon and Gerry L. Kohler.
Besides his parents, Paul was predeceased by his brothers, Stephen Lyman Sr; Thomas Lyman, Frank Lyman; and his sister, Mary Lyman.
During his lifetime, he was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School in Albany, N.Y., Class of 1956, after which he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp, where he was honorably discharged as an Active Corporal in August of 1963. Next to the birth of his six children, his time in the Marine Corp was his proudest achievement.
After serving in the military, he was employed by National Lead in Albany, N.Y., until their closure in 1979, after which he worked at the Powell and Minnock Brick Yard in Coeymans, N.Y. Upon retirement, he was briefly employed by the RCS Community Library, where he made many friends and was loved by the staff.
Paul made friends everywhere he went and left a long, lasting impression on all of those who knew and loved him. He was a regular at the Ravena Stewarts shop and local cafés and eateries. To know him was to love him.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Babcock Funeral Home, 19 Pulver Ave., Ravena, N.Y. 12143. Funeral Service will take place at 1 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot of Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont, N.Y.

Dear Dad,
Well Dad. Your family and friends have been waiting your arrival into the Gates of Heaven. I’m sure seeing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ must have been an amazing feeling of bright light, warmth, and love. I will miss you immensely. I am proud and honored to have been selected by God to be your daughter. Enjoy your celebration with your family and friends. You have made a lasting impression on your family and so many people that knew you. I have learned a lot from you about humanity, kindness, and love. Dad, I am beaming with pride of the man who you truly are. So many people have reached out to us with beautiful sentiments about you. I couldn’t be any prouder of you than I am now as I’ve always been proud of you. I love you until we meet again. I’ll remember you always with all my heart.
