Paul A. Marziani Sr.

Marziani, Paul A. Sr. WATERVLIET Paul Albert Marziani, Sr. passed peacefully from this life on Friday, December 4, 2020, in the comfort of his home and surrounded by the love of his family following a long illness. He was 89 years old. Born in Trenton, N.J., he was son of the late Ernesto and Lucia (DiPietro) Marziani. Paul was raised and educated in Trenton and, following high school, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to serve our country. In 1955, Paul was honorably discharged with the rank of staff sergeant and moved to Watervliet. He was employed, for more than 30 years, by the Nashua Corporation in Watervliet and retired in 1993. In his retirement years, Paul enjoyed the times spent with family and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and this filled his heart with great pride. He enjoyed woodworking, league bowling at Latham Bowl and was an expert poker player. He was a member of the United Papermakers International Union, a former member of the Watervliet Lodge of Elks and a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Watervliet. The Marziani family extends a heartfelt thank you to those who helped care for Paul during his illness and especially wish to thank home health aides, Erin and Bernice for their dedication and care. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his grandson, Paul Albert Marziani, III; and his sister, Josephine Tafro. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Yolanda M. Razzano Marziani; his loving children, Ernest F. (Wendy) Marziani, Paul A. Marziani, Jr. and Debra A. (Nicholas) Costa; his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas (Tamara) Marziani, Ericka (Adam) Gray, Tina Marie Daniels, Frances Costa, Nicholas Costa and Elisa Costa; his cherished great-grandchildren, Abigail, Alivia, Meilyn, Dominic and Remy Giada; as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and out of concern for everyone's safety, the Marziani family will hold private services which may be viewed on the Facebook page of Parker Bros. Memorial, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment and military honors will be accorded at 1 p.m. in the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery.
