Dear Jane: As a longtime friend and schoolmate of Peter, I want you to know how deeply I feel his loss to us. His wonderful wit, his charm and smile was always a part of our Milne years. Personally, he, Jim Clark and Lew Carr came to visit me when I was a patient in a tuberculosis Sanitarium during our Senior Year. It meant a great deal to me at the time and still does. He was a wonderful person. My sincere condolences. Nancy Dandrea

Dear Jane,
Looking back on the years that I had known Peter as a friend and neighbor, I am stuck first by the fact that my family and his were linked by where they lived though the had never met. After you and Peter moved to Durham. I learned that he had first lived in Ridgefield, Connecticut, where my daughter DeeDee has lived for more than twenty years but they did not meet until she visited in Durham not long ago. Then I remember him telling that his brother was headmaster, as I recall, of the Middlesex School in Concord in the Bay State, where and while, as I recall, my grandson Jeffrey Dishman was a student there. I remember too the pleasant weekend you and Peter spent with us at my camp at Wilson Pond in central Maine. I also recall gratefully the several hours he spent with me after my stroke several years ago even though he himself was not well. Finally, though I was not a member of St. Thomas More,I have been told by many who were, how much the parish has prospered under his wise counsel and expertise as a businessman. But above all I want you to know how proud and pleased all of us who were his friends are that Peter chose to come back to Durham buried with the blessing of the church he loved and served so well.
Sincerely,
Bob Dishman
