Peter Miralles Obituary

Miralles, Peter EAST GREENBUSH Peter Miralles, 92 of East Greenbush, passed away peacefully Friday morning, August 19, 2022, at his home. Peter was born in Pedreguer, Alicante, Spain, the son of Jose Miralles and Maria Ana Fornes. In 1954, he married his wife, Angela, and a year later immigrated to the U.S. Together they started a family in Albany and in 1960, moved to East Greenbush. During the late 1970's they built a beautiful home with a spacious garden where he and Angela stayed for the remainder of their years. Peter was a long-time member of the Laborer's Union Local 190. He started as a laborer and worked 36 years for several road construction companies. He retired in 1991 as a site superintendent for Hudson River Construction Company. In his spare time, Peter enjoyed gardening, wine-making, and baseball. Every year he would plant a great variety of vegetables, which he would then generously share with friends and family. He made wine in his basement, which he also enjoyed sharing. As a Yankees fan he would be happy to recount the highlights from yesterday's game, especially this season. Lastly, Peter enjoyed his winters in Florida and the company of his dear friends at Tregate Manor. We will all miss him, his love and generosity for family and friends, his exquisitely detailed storytelling, our traditional after-dinner brandies, his sense of humor, and his smile. Peter is predeceased by his parents; his wife Angela S. Miralles; his two brothers, Pepe and Vicente; and his sister Pepica. He is survived by his son, Joseph V. Miralles (Anne); his daughter, Ann Marie Miralles; his grandchildren, Peter R. Miralles (Olga), and Grace M. Miralles; as well as two sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews in Spain. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass Wednesday, August 24, at 10 a.m. at Historic St. Mary's Church, 10 Lodge St., Albany. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer. Contributions in Peter's memory may be made to The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Your parents were wonderful neighbors to my parents, Ruth and John Roppel. I have wonderful memories of visiting them in E. Greenbush, as well as FL. Last saw your Dad a couple of years ago in Sarasota. Thinking of Ann Marie and Jose and families with love and sympatry. Alice
