Kingra, Polixeni "Paula" (Avramidis) NISKAYUNA Polixeni "Paula" (Avramidis) Kingra passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 14, 2021, at the age of 58. A beloved wife, mother, sister, auntie, godmother, cousin, and friend, she will be remembered for her unwavering positivity and boundless love for everyone she met. Paula fought with immeasurable strength and grace throughout her life. May her memory be eternal. Paula is survived by her devoted, loving husband of 25 years, Harinder "Hari" and their three beautiful children, Balwant, Sukhpal, and Nirmann "Nina"; her mother, Stavroula and father, Vasilios Avramidis; her father-in-law, Harpal Kingra; and her brother-in-law Gurinderpal Kingra. She was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Balwant Kaur Kingra. Her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, aunts, uncles, friends, and loved ones from across the world will forever cherish her memory and carry on her legacy. Paula immigrated from Greece to Schenectady, with her family in 1969 and was the oldest of five siblings: Eugenia "Jennie," Aspassia "Soula," George, and Nektarios "Abe." A wise and nurturing big sister, she was the glue that held her family together as they learned a new language and built a new life. She graduated from Linton High School in 1981 and continued her education in nursing at SUNY Albany and Maria College. She will be remembered as a selfless healer and caregiver who always put others' needs before her own. Paula's impact stretched beyond religious and cultural lines as a devout parishioner of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church and active member of the Sikh Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara community. Her philanthropic spirit shone at St. George's annual festival and Philoptochos women's society events. Paula's energy cooking tirelessly in the kitchen, keeping books, and greeting everyone was infectious and admirable. Paula's warm smile brought people from all walks of life together. Whether at her kitchen island or in a new city, she exuded a kindness, calmness, and patience that made you feel safe and loved. She loved traveling the world with her family from Alaska, to Italy, to India, to Greece, and countless more adventures. Relatives and loved ones are invited to visit Daly Funeral Home in Schenectady on Sunday, July 18, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 19, in St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Schenectady.
