Ralph Eugene Schmollinger

Schmollinger, Ralph Eugene FREEHOLD, N.Y. It is with immeasurable grief and sadness that the Schmollinger family announces the passing of our beloved Ralph Eugene Schmol linger "Smokey" of Freehold, N.Y. on June 8, 2009. Born in Wee-hawken, N.J., son of Eugene and Ria (Pflanz) Schmollinger, Ralph lived for most of his life at Pleasant View Lodge in Freehold. He was a prominent member of the community, serving at times as a member of the Greenville Board of Education, president of the Rotary Club, and founding member of the Pleasant View Wednesday Night Men's' League, in addition to his local business interests. He was an avid golfer, softball pitcher and skier, as well as a licensed professional pilot and scuba diver. He cherished his friendships and his annual trips to Atlantic City. He is survived by his wife Barbara (nee Brumell); his sons, Erik and Randall; and his brother, Robert. He was loved by all who knew him, and his memory will be treasured forever. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 7 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, NY 12083. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 3 to 7 p.m. His family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the African Orphans' Education Fund at 53 Octavia Street, San Francisco, CA 94102.
