Raymond Dansereau Obituary

Dansereau, Raymond N. ALBANY Born in Albany in 1954, Raymond N. Dansereau entered into eternal life after a brief illness on Friday, July 23, 2021. He was the son of the late Raymond A and Mary K. Dansereau. Raymond graduated from Vincentian Institute in 1972 and continued on to the Albany College of Pharmacy where he received his Bachelor of Science in pharmacy. He also earned his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in nuclear pharmacy with high honors from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. He retired in March 2021. Raymond's Roman Catholic faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a lifelong member of St. Teresa of Avila church until it merged with St. Catherine of Siena to become The Parish of Mater Christi. He served on several committees and was active as an usher, lector, extraordinary minister of holy communion, funeral planning and parish celebrations. Raymond is survived by his wife of 42 years, MaryGrace; his five children, Raymond (Erin) Dansereau, Teresa (Brent) Tuttle, Thomas (Kathleen) Dansereau, Stephen Dansereau and Bernadette (John) Abeel; six grandchildren, Catherine, Raymond, Clare, Benedict, Joanna, and Isaac; and four brothers, Robert (Deborah), Richard (Susan), David (Kim), and Andrew (Laurie) Dansereau. Dear Mary Grace,
I have just heard that your dear Ray went home to God. My heart aches for you and for your family. I have many memories of Ray, usually with you at Church or at other diocesan events. He was a dear, an old fashioned gentleman in the best sense of the word. His faith was bedrock and his generosity to parish and wider church was so lovely.
I send my prayers to you and to all of your family. May faith and family sustain you in these difficult days.
Prayerfully, Sister Kitty Hanley

Dear Mary Grace and Family,
I am sincerely sorry for your loss.
I was a classmate of Raymond's at ACP but unfortunately did not have the opportunity to know him well. Reading his obituary and all his life accomplishments is a reminder of what a committed student he was while studying Pharmacy at the undergraduate level. His academic accomplishments are so impressive--the attainment of his MS and PhD are a further testament to his commitment to Pharmacy practice and the patients he served. I have so much respect for his contributions and dedication to the Church, the raising of his five children and six grandchildren. Most comforting is his photo with his glowing smile that appears here on this site...he must be surrounded by you and family!
May the Father, Son and Holy Spirit bring you to a place of renewed happiness as you pass through the difficult stages of your grief.
Warmest Regards,
Karen

I was very impressed with Ray who was a great leader of our Men's group at Mater Christi Church. I am very saddened to have learned this this news but I'm sure he is with God. I knew Mary Grace and Ray Jr. (Another great leader of our Men's Group). May he rest in God's arms and may the Lord provide comfort to all of his family and friends.
