If there was ever a man who was the embodiment of "They will know he was Christian by his love," it was Ray Joyce. His love for his family and his Catholic faith was evident in everything he did. I think that is what I will remember the most. God Bless you, Mr. Joyce and God Bless your amazing family!

Regretfully, I am not able to attend Ray's funeral. Circumstances due to heath issue do not permit it. I grew up with Ray and his family on Second Street. I have a lot of nice memories and he was a great guy.
With deepest sympathy,

Col. Ray Joyce always had patience and wisdom to contribute to the 138th Public Information Detachment NY Army National Guard Unit he commanded. We were young and restless and had our own (1960s-1970s) ideas about military service, but he kept us in line with good humor and a wink. Great recalling those days and his leadership. He had a long and full life; my sincere regards to his family.

Ray Joyce was " the best of the best."
I worked as a supervisor in the treasurer's office under his administration and cannot say enough about the respect and gratitude that I have for him. He was always a truly fair and supportive gentleman to his staff.
It was a pleasure to know him and work for him. I first met him as my boss and he quickly became my friend.
My sincere condolences to his beloved family during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

Ray Joyce...what a man, Public Servant, Democrat, Elk, but it was as a Kiwanian, sometimes a blend of all of these hats that we knew him best. Above all a Gentleman and one of a fading generation that will be hugely missed.

Family of Raymond F. Joyce, Jr.:
My sincere condolences on the loss of your most beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. A most worthy member of America's Greatest Generation.
Fondly remember Ray as a fellow member of the B.P.O. Elks, Albany Lodge #49 and the Albany County Democratic Committee (1985-93). A stellar man and genuine human being.
Your sense of loss must be overwhelming.
May your period of bereavement and grief be, mercifully, short.
God bless you all.
