I had the pleasure of working with Rick at the State in the Bankruptcy Section. Everyone there loved working with him and knew he was a special person. He never had the ego that a lot of state employees have and he treated everyone with respect weather they were a grade three or grade thirty. He would always have a smile and joke, along with an upbeat additude that made it a pleasure to come to work. We all loved the in-house parties. Rick loved cooking for the section and I still have many of his recepes for his favorites dishes and deserts. After his passing things were never the same in the Bankruptcy Section. It was like everyone lost their best friend. The middle of March will always be a sad time for me as I am reminded of a great man that was lost at such a young age. Rest in peace Rick.

Uncle Rick, this is probably the hardest weekend ive had to go through since it happend. and i thought it would have gotten a little bit easier by now but it really hasnt. i went to visit you yesterday & i left a beautiful rose for you, to look upon and think of me. please just be happy and i promise one day you can put me ontop of your mantle.

This is probably the hardest weekend ever. Not having you to go to the parade just isn't the same. Friday night was hard enough but tomorrow will be even harder. Everyone misses you every day. I am sure you and Kevin are busy cooking the corned beef feast. Love and miss you.

Uncle Rick,
There is not a day that goes by without you crossing my mind at least once. The start of the new year doesn't make me miss you any less and really doesn't make you being gone any easier. I truly hope you are more happy where you are but hope you know that everyone misses you. I can still see you standing at the top of your stairs in your LITTLE yellow shorts with your dark tan in the dead of the winter while getting your hair dyed. Ha the mental picture cracks me up every time I think of it. Love you and Miss You!

Yeah I know that I'm a day late for your birthday, but that doesn't mean that I wasn't thinking of you all day yesterday. I think about you most every day and miss that you are gone. I have so much to say and it drives me nuts that you aren't here to listen. Well 2008 is just around the corner, with new conquests and responsibilities, and like I said, it just sucks that you aren't here for us. I hope you at least got to have a beer with Kevin yesterday. It's like you both are still going to walk through the door at any time and surprise us all, but deep down I know that it will never happen.

We are so sorry for your loss. I hope that many great memories of happy times will help to make this time a little easier for you. We have many fond memories of Rick at firehouse functions, Nascar events,different parties and camping. I always remember how Slimfast really worked for him & how he had to protect poor Lucy from Sammi! May he rest in peace and maybe he'll give Sammi a little pat on the head for us.

Dee, The Baldwin Family and Rick's Extended Family,
Deb knew you and Rick better than I did, which was my loss. Rick's smile was infectious, his energy seemingly endless. He cared and stepped up when many would not. We'll remember him at Elsmere FD functions that we attended, cooking or socializing...making the "outsiders" feel comfortable and welcomed. The love and loss of Rick can be seen in the eyes of his family, friends and the Elsmere Fire Department as they pay tribute during this tragic time.

I have known of Rick for some time and his many accomplishments in Tax and Finance, but it was only recently I was able to work with him personally in Offer in Compromise. I had great respect for him and always will. I’m going to miss Sherriff Reggie Hammond.

I didn't know Rick on a very personal level, but had the pleasure of working with him for the last few years at the Tax Department. Rick was always a pleasure to work with, never had a bad thing to say about anybody or anything, and always had a smile on his face with something nice to say. He'll be greatly missed. Dee, It is indescribable to tell you in words how sorry I am for your loss. I thank you and "Mr. Baldwin" for opening your hearts, and home and making me feel part of the firehouse family. I will cherish all the times and laughter we spent together whether it was by the pool(before the sun was blocked by 3pm!), a firehouse party or around your dinner table after another amazing meal. Uncle Ricky always knew how to put a smile on my face. I will miss my barefoot dancing partner and good friend.

Unlce Rick was such a great guy, he'd always sit next to me at the firehouse bar because there was nobody there for me to hang out with. Him & I had some good times putting sweet tarts in our drinks, Ill always remember the way he'd say "hey budyy! how are ya?" Whenever I would come to the firehouse. Dee I knew Rick a long time in Tax Compliance. I remember when he first started as a Tax Compliance Agent in the ADO years ago. . He was always so full of energy and life. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the Baldwin family.

Words can not even begin to express how much Rick will be truly missed. Growing up Rick and Dea treated me as family, whether it was being carried around on Rick's shoulder's, bringing me to local events, camping, or preparing me for my road test when I turned 16, it was always a great experience that made me feel like family.
