Richard Boles Obituary

Boles, Richard Brian
NISKAYUNA - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Richard Brian Boles, on January 11, 2025, at the age of 77, at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard J. and Constance M. Boles (Connelly); son, Brennan Boles; as well as his beloved wife, Paula M. Boles (Furlani), who he missed dearly until his passing. He is survived by his children, Amber Hubert (Tom), Andy Boles (Allison) and Aubrey Crist (Ryan), whose many athletic and professional accomplishments he took great pride in. Brian is survived by several grandchildren, Adriana, Charlie, William, Miles, Nolan and Aaron, who brought him great joy. Brian is also survived by his sister, Mary (Jerry) Baumunk; brother, Bill Boles; his brother-in-law, A. Gordon Furlani; sister-in-law, Valentina (Robert) Krauss; aunts, Carolyn Mundweiller, Ann Greene; and uncle, Dan Connelly; cousins, nieces and nephews. Brian was born in Schenectady, N.Y. He was a graduate of Burnt Hills High School (1965), where he excelled in soccer, basketball and baseball. In basketball, he held the single game scoring record of 37 points for over 20 years. He then went to play basketball at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, graduating in 1969. Upon fulfilling his postgraduate military requirement, Brian embarked on an over 40 year career at KAPL in Niskayuna, retiring in 2012. Services for Brian will be held privately, followed by interment at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, N.Y. There will be a future celebration of his life later in the year. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. We will forever be grateful for your tender care of our father in his final days. Memorial contributions can be made in Brian's memory to Community Hospice Foundation, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, N.Y. 12205.
