Richard Brown Obituary

Brown, Richard J.
TROY - Richard J. Brown, 54, of Speigletown, passed peacefully at home on March 4, 2025.
Rich was born in Troy, the son of J. Richard Brown and the late Claire A. (Jensen) Brown. He was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School, class of 1989, as well as a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College.
Rich started his career at Gendron's Truck Center as a mechanic. He then worked at various National Grid barns, first as a mechanic, then as a lineman.
He loved working on and owning old cars, which sparked his interest in becoming a mechanic. During his free time, Rich could be found helping any friends and neighbors in need with car issues as well as computer problems.
Rich also loved traveling, vacationing at Universal Studios, the Sun and beaches of Bermuda and New Jersey, fishing and camping, and above all, Rich loved his boys and playing computer games with them.
Rich is survived by his boys, Aidan and Cameron; his sister, Laurie (Bob) Dahl; his father, Dick; and former wife, Christa Wilkie; along with many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Rich was predeceased by his brother, Stephen Brown; and his mother, Claire.
Friends are invited and may call on Saturday, from 12 - 2 p.m., at the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 870 Second Ave. (between 124th and 125th St.) in Lansingburgh. Graveside services will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, in Troy.

Sorry to hear of Ritchie´s passing! I had the pleasure to have worked with Rich for many years at National Grid as a Lineman he was one of the best. He always one of the hardest workers and very knowledgeable about many things and yes he did work on my vehicles at times. I will miss him and he is a soul gone to soon. Rest easy my old friend! My deepest condolences and sympathy to all the Family and friends!
