Hebert, Richard J. Sr. "Bookie" STILLWATER Richard J. "Bookie" Hebert, Sr., 67, of Chestnut Ln. in Stillwater died at his residence on Tuesday October 15, 2013 embraced by his loving family. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late William K. and Mildred T. Mazur Hebert and beloved husband of Barbara Tanner Hebert of Stillwater. Bookie graduated from Cohoes High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy and has been a resident of Stillwater for the past 22 years. He was employed as a control operator for General Electric Silicone in Waterford and retired in 2000. He later worked as bus driver with the Stillwater School District. Bookie enjoyed football and was an avid Jets and Mets fan. But his true enjoyment came from the love of his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children, Terry Ann (Bill) May of Clifton Park, Mary Katherine Hebert of Stillwater, Richard J. (Carolyn) Hebert, Jr. of Grafton and Tanner W. Hebert of Stillwater; adored grandchildren, Justin, Shaun, Richard III, Brianna, Zachary and Chloe; siblings, Nancy A. (Leonard) Borden of Clifton Park, Gerald T. Hebert of Green Island and David P. (Marie) Hebert of Albany and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Joan M. White and his brother, William E. Hebert. A funeral service will be held in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd., 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes Friday morning at 9 o'clock with Reverend Peter Tkocz officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in the Gerald B. H. Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-7 .pm.
