Richard Lang Obituary
Cape Coral, FL - Richard Michael Lang, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2023, in Cape Coral, Florida. Rich was born on April 4, 1946, to George and Rosalind Lang in Albany, New York. He graduated from Bethlehem High School in 1964 and Villanova University in 1970.
Rich is survived by his daughters Jessica (Seth) DiPrima and Katrina (Kevin) Sullivan, brothers Dennis (Beth) Lang and Roger (Jane) Lang, and sister Janice (Mark) Huss. Rich, aka GP, is also survived by his nine grandchildren - Will, Sam, Caleb, Ainsley, Ray, Emma, Sarah, Danny, Chris and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. Rich was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to everyone.
Rich was very adventurous in his earlier years. He lived in Maui, Hawaii and captained whale watching boats. He also sailed from California to Hawaii, motorcycled across the United States and flew airplanes for pleasure. He loved playing saxophone and guitar and loved singing Jimmy Buffet songs with his brothers. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed making up games and quizzing them on history and math. He spent many summers running Camp Nassau in Guilderland, New York. Rich was a passionate science teacher. He taught physics at Albany High School until he retired in 2006. After that, he moved to Maui, Hawaii for a few years before settling in Cape Coral, Florida.
A memorial service will be held in Albany, New York in summer 2024. Details to be posted on Rich's Facebook account when finalized.

Mr. Lang was a great mentor. I kept in touch with him since leaving high school in 2004.
Every holiday I heard from him and received a silly gif message. I called him the day after Thanksgiving because I didn´t get his usual holiday message.
I am so saddened by the news of his passing.

Learning of Rich´s passing was very sad indeed. I have wonderful memories of our years at BC and his kindness to all.
Being Facebook friends for years has kept us in touch. I will miss following all of his adventures and hearing about his beautiful family.

Rich was an elementary school and high school classmate. We were also high school football teammates at Bethlehem Central High in Delmar NY. He had a wonderful and sometimes mischievous sense of humor. I have many fond memories of being in "Red's" company from elementary school and high school. It is very sad to think that Rich has passed. I know he will be missed by his family and friends. Rest in Peace, Rich.
