Richard Mahlstedt Obituary

Mahlstedt,
Richard W.
GLENMONT - Richard W. Mahlstedt, 81, entered Eternal Life, Friday, April 25, 2025. Born in Bronxville, N.Y., he was the son of the late Robert A. and Virginia W. Wilde.
Richard graduated from Columbia High School and Hartwick College. After graduation, he began his career at Glens Falls Insurance Company, where he met his wife-to-be. He retired after 40 years with Amsure Associates as an agency executive.
He was a longtime member of the Jaycees, Evergreen Country Club, Burden Lake Country Club, Holy Spirit Church, St. Thomas the Apostle Church, and the YMCA. Many memories were made during summer family vacations to the Cape. Dick enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening, and rooting on his grandchildren at their lacrosse games.
He was the dear husband of Suzanne E. Finnigan Mahlstedt of 58 years; beloved father of Cara Hart of Conn., and Stephen Mahlstedt (Cassandra) of W.V.; cherished grandfather of Casey Hart and Neely Hart; brother of Robert A. Mahlstedt III (Patty) of Texas, and David Mahlstedt (Mary) of N.Y.; brother-in-law of James H. Finnigan Jr. (Karolyn) of N.Y., George J. Finnigan (Alice) of N.Y., Thomas C. Finnigan of N.C., and the late Ruth A. Finnigan and Barbara Finnigan; several nieces and nephews survive Richard.
Dick will miss his time spent with dear friends "The East Greenbush Gang" and time on the golf course with his good friends, after-round meals, and occasional golf trips.
