Richard Qua Obituary
TROY - Richard "Dick" Qua, 89, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023, after a long heartbreaking battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Born and educated in Troy, he was the son of the late Fayette (Pat) Dillon Qua and Marion Halstead Piser Qua Newcomb.
He was a well-known and beloved minister of Jehovah's Witnesses for many years. Richard loved to read and talk about the Bible. He used his faith in God to shepherd those in need and offer a listening ear to those who were troubled. He had a special love for life, for creation, and for the one that created it. His great faith brought him immense strength, and comfort, throughout his life.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Rose Esposito Qua; by his devoted children, Leslie Qua Sheldon (late Reginald), Paul Qua, and Kelley Qua Wallace (Stephen); by his loving grandchildren, Sean Sheldon, Joshua Sheldon (Lisa), Kristin Qua, Caitlin Qua; and by his brother, Robert Qua. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, F. John Qua; son, Brian Qua; and by his granddaughter, April Qua Perrino.
A memorial service will be held at the family's discretion but would encourage his family and friends to share their memories of Richard on the virtual guest book.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Richard's memory to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 20 Cooksboro Rd., Troy, NY 12182, or the Alzheimer's Association, 1003 Loudon Rd., Cohoes, NY 12047.
