We could always count on a smile whenever we'd see you at family gatherings. You left us far too soon. We will miss you and forever remember you.

My sincerest sympathy to all of you in the passing of your dear brother Robert. As you all very well know I was a foster child of your parents so many years ago and I spent a great deal of time over those 31/2 to 4 years with Bob or as he was nicknamed back then, Bevo. I have alot of fond memories of those times doing alot of things with Bob related to sports and watching and listenng to events that eventually became very famous such as the night Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali)became the heavyweight Champion of the World by beating Sonny Liston in Feb. 1964 and the LA Dodgers beating the NY Yankees in the 1963 World Series, and that famous call of Boston Celtic game announcer Johnny Most when John Havlicek stole the ball in the 7th game of the Eastern Conference finals at the Boston Garden between the Celtics & the 76ers in 1965. He loved playing baseball, football and basketball and he loved to beat me in all those games. He also loved to watch sports on TV and he introduced me to having a keen interest in pro football. Though I have been a big time Redskin's fan for over 40 years it was great watching games back then when we were all NY Giants fans and their team had YA Tittle/Frank Gifford/Del Shofner/Sam Huff and many other great players. He also loved to badger me when the upstart NY Mets won over a SF Giant's team that I was a fan of back then that had such notiable players such as Willie Mays/Willie McCovey/Juan Marichal/and Orlando Cepeda.Aside from sports, we also spent alot of time working around that farm that we lived on. From picking apples and weeding and watering the gardens during the summer to cutting wood for the pot belly stove and shoveling massive amounts of snow from that circular driveway that went completely around the house, during the winter. I will forever be grateful to your parents for taking me from that orphanage and providing me with a normal family home where I had a big brother who I could do things with. I'm saddened that we didn't quite stay in touch over the years though I did manage to see him a couple of times and he he seemed very excited to see me. I am very sorry that I was unable attend Bob's funeral service last week but it has become increasingly difficult to stay up for any length of time after working all night especially in the last several years. I certainly hope that he received a very nice service that he so rightfully deserved. So I conclude by thanking him for those childhood memories that I so fondly remember and cherish. Bob, I will forever include you in my list of important people that were a part of my life and who have since passed on and who I constantly pray for. May you RIP buddy!
