Robert Gray Obituary

Gray , Robert "Bobby" Jon NISKAYUNA Robert "Bobby" Jon Gray, age 28, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Bobby was born February 14, 1994, in Lambare, Paraguay. He was adopted and brought home in September 1994, baptized at Christ the King Church in Guilderland, and became a U.S. citizen in 1995, at a special ceremony at the Veterans' Administration in Albany. He was the cherished son of Carol Bianco Miller, the late Jon Gray, and Daniel Miller. He is also survived by his beloved siblings, Lainie Gray, Dana Miller, and Robby Miller. Bobby attended the Langan School in Albany where he earned a N.Y.S. IEP diploma. Bobby lived most of his life with his family in Guilderland. However, for the past 11 years he has lived with his second family at the Consaul Road Residence (Center for Disability Services) in Niskayuna. There he was blessed with many friends and caregivers who enriched his life every day with their love and attention. In 2012, he was honored to be selected and featured for the Center for Disability Services Annual Telethon. Bobby embodied perseverance in reaching many milestones in his short life that many of us take for granted. Despite many challenges, his determination, sense of humor, and flashing dark Spanish eyes carried him through the day. Although he never spoke a word, his personality and charm were irresistible, and he made friends everywhere. To know Bobby was to love him; his smile and laugh were contagious. He loved helping around the kitchen, grocery shopping, car rides, being with his family and friends, teasing his dogs Roxy and Dusty, good food, puzzles, balloons, shooting hoops, blowing bubbles, and collecting matchbox cars. Bobby demonstrated to everyone that physical and intellectual challenges do not preclude a life of love and achievement. In addition to his parents and siblings, Bobby is survived by his maternal grandfather, Donald Bianco of Fla., as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and dear friends throughout the country. His memory will be eternal. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, from 5-7 p.m. at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Tpk. (Rt 20), in Guilderland. Funeral services will begin on Friday, 9:45 a.m., from the funeral home, followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Ave., in Guilderland. Burial will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. To share a memory, condolence or photo with Robert's family, please visit demarcostonefuneralhome.com
