ALBANY - Dr. Robert Guerrin passed away peacefully on March 22, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Bob was born on November 14, 1932, to the late Francis A. and Edna Guerrin. He called Long Island home and graduated from Warwick High School in 1950. Bob received a B.A. from Clark University and a M.A. and Ph.D. from New York University propelling a career in research and sociology. Dr. Guerrin served on the Board of Directors of the AIDs Council of Northeastern New York, as chair of the Health Policy and Administration Consortium of the Capital District, and as president of the New York State Public Health Association. Dr. Guerrin was a retired professor emeritus of The Sage Colleges, and founder and director of their graduate program in health services administration.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Janet "Jinny" Ferl, her husband James Ferl, and grandsons, Tobias S. Ferl, and Jesse Ferl; his son, Robert Kendrick (Ken) Guerrin, and grandsons, Carter Guerrin, and Jackson Guerrin; and his former wife, Janet F. Guerrin.
Bob remained in Albany where he was a member of the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany for over 50 years. He ushered at SPAC for more than 40 years. He was active with friends at Glenmont Abbey, loved the Albany Symphony Orchestra and the New York City Ballet, and oh those Yankees!
A memorial service will be held on June 17, at 2 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Albany.
