Robert Hess Obituary

Hess, Robert C. ROTTERDAM Robert C. Hess, 62, of Southwoods, Conn., passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Bennington, Vt., he was a lifelong Schenectady area resident. For 42 years, Robert worked for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. For over 20 years, he also sold real estate for Doreen Ross & Associates. Robert had a love for traveling, being on his boat, or riding his motorcycle and he also loved to spend time outdoors and in nature. He is survived by his four children, Robin (Kenneth) Karg of Esperance, Eric R. Hess of Rotterdam, Joy E. Cassels of Rotterdam and Brett R. Hess of Jacksonville, Fla.; his B.T. significant other, Naomi Tague; two brothers, Harold Hess of Kansas City, Kan. and Peter Hess of Schenectady; seven grandchildren, Rochelle, Christina, Alecia, Jarrett, Gabrielle, Dylan and Joshua. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will held 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Arlington, Vt. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Albany, NY 12211.
