My condolences to Bob's entire family. As another Pine Hills neighbor and classmate at VI, I have many memories of Bob, who was just an unforgettable presence in our lives growing up. People loved his brash sense of humor and outgoing personality and he was vey popular with the guys and girls. I also remember his competitive spirit; he was a good athlete at any sport he tried.Farewell and rest in peace Bobby.

Martha, Kathy and Family,
Bobby had a huge spirit and I enjoyed him so much. I really only knew him over the last 15 to 20 yrs but I heard his earlier stories and, boy was he funny at times. I most remember his big white smile and how much he adored his daughter. He has moved on to an easier life.
Sending love and light to all of you. Peace, peace, peace.

I remember fondly Bobby's great humor, and am reminded of the short poem he inscribed in our 1969 VI yearbook...suffice to say it alluded to St. Patrick's Day and McNally's Tavern...rest in peace friend, and raise a green beer to for me!

I was a friend of Bob's back at VI and although I was at VI for only 2 years I recall some good times we had together. Sorry for your loss.

Bobby was a great childhood friend. We lost contact after the first year of high school, but boy did we have a fun (almost Huckleberry Finn type) time before that! He had a compelling laugh, and was always smiling and joking--and he never used biting humor or sarcasm. As my brother Karl has added here, we used to play sports all of the time in the Pine Hills; and we played on the same Slingerlands baseball team, where he was an excellent catcher. I also fondly recall being his early adviser in matters of girls/love (to extent that such is extant at ages 11-13!) By the way, I was there when Bob Haggerty Sr. named him Mugsy McGraw; and Bobby embraced the moniker warmly. He was a dear, wonderful person.

I have fond memories of a period in my childhood when Bobby and Kevin McGraw along with George Barthlemas, my brother, Greg and I played football in the McGraw's backyard almost every day. My deepest sympathy to Bob's wife and daughter and to the McGraw family.

I grew up in the Pine Hills with Bob and was in the same V.I. Class. He was one of the funniest kids I knew. I have many great memories of Bob especially when we toured Europe together in 1968. And yes, I can remember Bob being a "soul man" in the hippie sixties!
