SCHENECTADY - Robert O. Wilhelm, Esq., age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Robert was born in Albany, and was the son of the late George and Mary (Ryder) Wilhelm. His formative years were spent in Albany and Delmar. Following high school, he attended and graduated from Union College, and later Albany Law School. He was admitted to the N.Y.S. Bar in 1971. Robert was a practicing attorney for 53 years, and spent more than 20 years in private practice at his law office in Clifton Park. Robert found enjoyment in downhill skiing, reading, listening to podcasts of his favorite topics and rescuing pets, especially cats. He was a proud member of the Saratoga County Republican Committee and the Commercial Law League of America. He was the devoted husband of the late Jane L. (Popp) Wilhelm; father of Krista L. Wilhelm, of Greenville, N.C., and Kara J. (Dan) Rafferty, of Maplewood; grandfather of Noah Rafferty; brother–in-law of Karl (Theresa) Popp and Mark Popp; and close friend of Larkin Rusch. Friends are invited to visit with Robert's family on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at the Parker Brothers Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. The visiting period will conclude with a brief service and the sharing of memories. Robert will be laid to rest next to his wife, Jane, in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
