Roger Fitzpatrick Obituary

Fitzpatrick, Roger SEBRING, Fla. Roger "The Dodger" Fitzpatrick, 77, died peacefully at home March 8, 2010. Roger was born an "April Fool" April 1, 1932 to Lawrence and Mary (Aubin) Fitzpatrick in Platts-burg, N.Y. He graduated from Danamora High School, joined the U.S. Navy, and married his high school sweetheart, Helen Kilfoyle, in 1951. Together, for over 58 years, Helen and Roger were always busy completing their "Bucket List". Helen's passing in July of 2008 left a hole in his heart, that could never be mended. Honorably discharged from the Navy as a communications specialist, he then began a career with N.Y. Telephone, that lasted 32 years. Retiring as an account executive in 1988, he "planned his work and worked his plan", until his last days. Roger and Helen worked side by side building three log homes in Rainbow Lake, N.Y., traveled to Alaska big game hunting and fishing, and golfed, all winter in Fla. Survived by his loving daughters, Kathleen (Ed) Boado, Sebring, Bridget (Joseph) Lochner of Guilderland; and son, Christopher Fitzpatrick, Albany N.Y.; beloved brother of Patricia Ruff, Niles, Ohio, Gail Buck, Plattsburg, N.Y., Timothy (Maureen) Fitzpatrick, Richfield, Ohio. Predeceased by Thomas Fitzpatrick; cherished grandfather of his six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; and lifelong friends will also deeply miss him. A private memorial will be held celebrating Roger's life at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Brighton, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to North Country Life Flight, P.O. Box 994, Saranac Lake, NY 12983.

Kathy, Chris, Bridget.
I am sorry for your loss.It is very difficult to lose a parent.
I was a friend and neighbor of your parents years ago. I remember all their dreams as they spoke often of having a log cabin. Your mother hated living in the city and especially did not like the traffic on our street. Four o'clock was "crack up time" I am sure you remember.

Kathy
I am very sorry for your loss. I have often wondered whats up with you since we worked together in gold bond in the 80s. I will pray for you and your family. I remember how hard it was to lose my mom. I am so sorry for your pain.

Chris, Kathy and Bridget,

I worked with and for your Dad at NY Telephone / Nynex at 8 Nolan Road in Colonie. We shared some wonderful times and I attended many social events with both your Dad and your Mom. She was a sweet lady and Roger was a stand up guy and a good friend. His legacy is that loved the North Country and he loved his family. I send my thoughts and prayers to all of you.
