Roger Van Iderstine Obituary

Van Iderstine, Roger H.
Tellico Plains, Tenn. - Roger H. Van Iderstine, age 67, of Tellico Plains, Tenn., formerly of Dormansville, N.Y., passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn., of lung cancer.
Roger was the son of the late Richard L. and Bernice (Hotaling) Van Iderstine Sr. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard Jr. (Linda), Garry, Wilfred and Darrin Van Iderstine; and sister, Denise Irizarry Barkley.
He is survived by his sisters, Rise and Sharon Van Iderstine (Paul); in-laws, Tonya Flansburg, Renee Van Iderstine and John Barkley; nephews, Richard III (Lisa), Jeffrey (Tina) Van Iderstine, and Steven (Aliex) Irizarry; nieces, Liddy Van Iderstine (Alan), Andrea Irizarry, Alicia (Frank) Lomio and Autumn (Bobby) Van Iderstine. Also survived by many great and great, great-nephews-and-nieces, cousins, friends, and extended T.N., family.
Roger was able to fix just about anything that was broken or not working correctly, from law mowers or washing machines to computers. He was very talented that way. If something was broke, we'd say call "Rog".
Per his wishes, Roger was cremated. The family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
