Rosemarie Ripps Obituary

Ripps, Rosemarie DELMAR Rosemarie Ripps, 80, wife of the late Morris Ripps, died July 30, 2008. Born in Halle, Germany, she was a graduate of Burg Giebichenstein Academy of Art and Design in Halle and the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin, Germany. After completing her studies, she worked as a jewelry designer in Berlin where she met her husband Morris. They were married in Berlin in 1958 and moved to Albany, N.Y. the same year. Rosemarie continued her creative activities throughout her life while raising her family and working as a substitute teacher for the Bethlehem School District. She lived until her last day in the beautiful house that she loved and cared for with such grace and elegance. "Beauty is everywhere a welcome guest" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe She is survived by her daughter, Corinna Schaming; son-in-law, Mark Schaming; and beloved granddaughters, Hannah Eliza and Rachel Ripps Schaming. Funeral service private. The family desires that memorial contributions be made to the Museum After School Club, c/o New York State Museum Institute, Empire State Plaza, Albany, NY 12202. Rosemary was in every way an elegant lady. She worked with us from time to time in the library at Colonie High School. She was kind, smart and a pleasure to work with. Condolences to her family.
