ALBANY - Sandra Messerle, 86, of Albany, N.Y., passed away peacefully, at home, June 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Loudonville, N.Y., and was the daughter of Marjorie Cartwright Messerle and Joseph Messerle.
A devoted mother, proud grandmother, loyal friend, and the heart of our family, Sandra was known for her deep love and unwavering commitment to those she held dear. She was the proud mother of Cynthia Ashley, Eugene (Gene) Guidetti, Gregory Guidetti, and Kimberley Guidetti Kearney. Her children and grandchildren were the true light of her life.
Sandra is survived by her grandchildren, Kailyn (Ashley) Vecchio, Tyler Ashley, Kyle Pick, Taylor Kearney, Brendan Kearney; and the three granddaughters she lovingly helped raise alongside her son Gene, Alaina, Adrianna (Mari), and Angelina Guidetti; and six great-grandchildren. She shared a unique and special bond with each of them and played a central role in their lives.
A true matriarch, Sandra was the cornerstone of every family gathering, bringing people together and making everyone feel valued, supported, and loved. Wherever she was, it was a place of warmth, comfort, and constant laughter.
Sandra was an active member of her community. She formed many meaningful friendships through her work at the NYS Assembly, the Guilderland United soccer program and Vincentian Institute where she attended high school. She was a member of the Mater Christi Parish. Sandra was admired by friends and peers for her kindness, steady support, and thoughtful care.
Sandra's life was a beautiful example of compassion, strength, and selflessness. She valued peace, family, and togetherness above all else.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., in Mater Christi Church, 40 Hopewell St., Albany, N.Y. 12208.
