MALTA - Shelda Jean Roerig, 83 of Ruhle Road South, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2023, at her home in the loving care of her family.
She was born in Mechanicville on March 28, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Carl and Freda Fellows Werner. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard P. "Dick" Roerig Sr. who died on January 16, 2003. She retired from New York State as a principal clerk with the Dept. of Transportation in Albany. She loved her flower gardens, including caring for the flower gardens at the Mini Golf in Clifton Park. Shelda enjoyed going to plays locally and on Broadway in New York City. She was an active member of the Round Lake United Methodist Church and enjoyed her membership with the United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the East Line Union Cemetery Association.
She was the devoted mother of Richard P. "Rick" Roerig Jr. of Lancaster, Calif. and Daniel P. Roerig of Malta; and sister of Marion Cassidy (Richard), James Werner and Janice Summa. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 2, at 1 p.m. in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9, Clifton Park with the Rev. James Knapp, Pastor of the Round Lake United Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be in East Line Union Cemetery, Malta.
