Shelda Roerig Obituary
MALTA - Shelda Werner Roerig, 83 of Ruhle Road, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2023, at her home in the loving care of her family.
Born in Halfmoon on March 28, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Freda Werner; and the beloved wife of the late Richard P. "Dick" Roerig.
She retired from N.Y.S. as a principal account clerk for D.O.T. in Albany. She loved to flower garden and see plays locally and in N.Y.C. She was an active member of the Round Lake Methodist Church and a member of United Methodist Women.
She is the devoted mother of Richard P. Roerig Jr. of Lancaster, Calif., and Daniel P. Roerig of Malta; sister of Marion Cassidy, James Werner, and Janice Summa; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 2, at 1 p.m. in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9, Clifton Park, with the Rev. James Knapp, Pastor of the Round Lake United Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Wednesday, in the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be in East Line Union Cemetery, Malta, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave, Schenectady, NY 12302.

Selda, I never wrote something like this before, but, I never got to talk with you again before you passed away. While I was walking to the corner store, almost daily, we'd see each other and exchange a smile, a nod and then a hello. I was missing that, so I asked the fellow who was working on your front lawn... Excuse me, how is Dan's mom doing? "She died". It hit me, I was speechless. I stood there not knowing what to say. It was the farthest thing from my mind, that I thought I would have heard. What I will cherish most, about my memory of you, is your smile. You always greeted me and I'm already missing that.
