BRUNSWICK - Shirley McGraw Del Santo of Brunswick peacefully entered into eternal life on Monday, September 25, 2023.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Kathryn McQuillan McGraw and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy, the Albany College of Pharmacy where she earned her B.A. and a graduate of Bender Institute of Medical Technology. Mrs. Del Santo had been a medical technologist with Dr. Boswell in Troy. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy.
She was the beloved wife of the late retired Lt. Col. Peter A. Del Santo, U.S. Army; devoted mother of James (Mary Beth) Del Santo, Mary Elicia Del Santo and the late Peter B. (Patricia) Del Santo, M.D.; cherished grandmother of Christopher (fiancé Cecelia Lahiff) Del Santo; sister-in-law of Linda Sahla, the late Jean (late Earl) Degan, and the late John (Jean) Del Santo. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The Del Santo family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. John O'Bryan as well as to the nurses, and certified nurse assistants at Shaker Place Case Unit in Colonie for the loving care provided to her and her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours at Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Ave., Troy, NY, 12180 on Friday, September 29, from 11 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. and to Shirley's funeral Mass of Christian Burial at the church that afternoon at 12:15 p.m. Interment will be held in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105-9959 and Our Lady of Victory Parish (see address above), in memory of Shirley Del Santo.
