Stanislaw A. Blaszkow

Blaszkow, Stanislaw A. WATERVLIET Stanislaw A. Blaszkow, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening November 27, 2014 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home. Stanislaw was born in Stryj, Poland, a son of the late Andrew and Emilia Engel Blaszkow. Stanislaw was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as an engineer for the Department of Defense for many years. Stan had many artistic talents, he was a member of St. Stanislaw's Church in Utica, where he was a devoted organist for 32 years, the leader of multiple church choirs and leader of a male vocal quartet. Stan was a gifted artist as well. He was a loving husband, caring father, grandfather and friend to many people; he was the epitome of a true Renaissance man. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Anna M. Blaszkow in August 2014. Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Gina and William Morris; two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew (Ray) and Penny Blaszkow and John and Lori Blaszkow; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 1 p.m. at St. Ambrose Church, Old Loudon Road. Interment of Stanislaw's and Anna's ashes will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
